Les fourmis ont ensuite emporté la chenille dans leur nid. Sous terre, la chenille s’est nourrie du couvain des fourmis et s’est transformée en chrysalide. Pour être tolérée dans la fourmilière, la chenille exsude une sécrétion nutritive sucrée pour les fourmis. Ensuite, le papillon a éclos et rampé le long des galeries jusqu’à l’air libre.
