[Nature outing by boat] We embarked our volunteers to discover the fauna and flora of aquatic environments on Lake Lacanau (Gironde, France). We observed several birds: raptors in the sky like 5 black kites, black-headed gulls, mute swans and their young with their gray plumage, but also odonate insects (scientific name for dragonflies and damselflies) with in particular the Trithemis annulata. This dragonfly with exotic colors is native to Africa and has gradually colonized the south of France since 1994 with climate change.It was also an opportunity to recall the fragility of these environments impacted by global changes.
